CLASSES

Beginners Mind Yoga Class

Designed for beginners, this class covers basic yogic breathing, warm-up and poses that help you tune into your body, deepen your self-awareness, and learn how to adjust in a pose so it’s more comfortable. Using the concept of “Beginner’s Mind,” we notice with curiosity rather than judgment in this introduction to Yoga.

Group Meditation

Make yourself comfortable in a chair or on cushions on the floor to practice meditation together in a supportive circle of community members. If you’re new to meditation, Kristin gladly offers guided meditation and shorter sits combined with readings and reflective discussions. Kristin studied mindful meditation with Mindful Schools for several years, completing her Mindful Schools Teacher Training in 2020.

Wednesdays | 6:00-7:00 PM
FREE: donations gratefully accepted (pay what you can) but not expected.

Community/All-level Yoga Class

Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of skill level or experience. If you can get up from sitting on the floor with ease, you can participate in this class and may be challenged by some poses. Modifications and suggestions are always included, so everyone feels comfortable practicing what works best for them. In this class, we intend to connect with ourselves and others, practice breathwork and poses that help us heal, grow and thrive.

Meet the Teachers: Kristin Buchholz

Kristin is the founder and owner of Heron Hill Yoga. After thirty years of teaching children of all ages through art and yoga, she chose to share her experience with her community outside of the school setting. Opening her personal art and yoga space for classes, workshops, summer camps, and meditation groups is a way for her to serve her community and pay forward the healing and transformation Yoga has given Kristin.

She earned a fine arts degree from Syracuse University, a master’s degree in education from Harvard University, and is trained in trauma-informed yoga practices as well as mental health first aid. Her Yoga teacher training is through Radiant Child & Family Yoga, where she earned her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification.
